Addictions are a coping mechanism, and Hypnosis has a 77% success rate with helping remove drugs or alcohol as a coping mechanism. On the other end of the spectrum, 12 step programs have a 25% success rate with removing drugs or alcohol as coping mechanisms.

When I first started working in the social and human service field I focused on two avenues, Hypnosis and Substance Use.

I started in the Addictions field in the early 1990(s), when the prevalent belief was that the only way to quit using was through complete abstinence and regular attendance of 12 step groups. Harm Reduction Therapy was still off to side and considered useless by many counselors. At one of my first positions with a professional agency I mentioned the term “Harm Reduction” in the lunch room and the initial silence was deafening. This was followed by an explosion of arguments as to why Harm Reduction did not work and why it was dangerous to believe that it would work.

In the late 1950(s), Bill W., who started AA and made the statement once an alcoholic always and alcoholic, claimed that he had been cured of his alcoholism. This cure was brought about by his being given micro dosing of LSD while seeing a psychiatrist. According to Bill W. he went through a spiritual experience that allowed him to no longer desire or crave his drug or choice alcohol. Bill had been diagnosed with Addiction / Addictions and for many decades stuck with his statement, (once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic).

Things have changed a lot during those early days of the 1990(s). All Addictions, whether they be food, drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, or inappropriate behaviors, are now considered Coping Mechanisms.

A coping mechanism is any or the above listed issues that is used to help a person cope with their stress, anxiety, or what they believe is self protection.

For generations we were afraid of such things as lack of food, housing, wild animals, and attacks by people or events around them. The human mind is able to activate both our Sympathetic or Para-sympathetic Nervous Systems. It is our Sympathetic Nervous System that causes our bodies to be flooded with neuro – chemicals, such as adrenaline and cortisol that will activate our Flight, Fight, or Freeze responses.

When you are using a coping mechanism, (in this case drugs or alcohol), you were not doing anything wrong, you were simply trying to make your self feel better, you were trying to make your self feel safer. You had no idea of the dangerous side and after effects of these substances, and once you developed a physical addiction to these substances you now had to deal with these effects, plus you still had the original issue that you were trying to cope with.

Hypnosis teaches you how to switch from the Sympathetic Nervous System to the Para – Sympathetic Nervous, by lowering the frequency of your brain wave patterns and filling your body with positive neuro chemicals such as dopamine, norepinephrine. oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins. As you learn to create a positive effect in your body, you are also able to find safer and more helpful coping mechanisms, such as exercise, gratitude, and self hypnosis / meditation.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this blog, Hypnosis has a 77% success rate to alleviate the effects of Addictions as compared to the 25% success rate of 12 step / AA programs.

Foundations Medical Hypnosis and Life Coaching works with clients who have been dealing with Addictions for years and they are on the edge of loosing their jobs, and their relationships. You will be introduced to and taught the ability to use technique of Emotional Release Therapy which works just like EMDR, only this is stronger because you are already in a relaxed state through the trance induction of Hypnosis.

CALL TODAY, Start your new and non-addiction life style. (206) 417-4900 or visit my website Foundations Personal Energy Mastery. Within a few short sessions will regain control of your life and your future.

When I began working in the Hypnosis and Substance Use Disorder field, it was ruled by the beliefs of Alcoholics Anonyms, and Harm Reduction was treated like it was the enemy. Interestingly enough, Bill W., who started AA in the 30(s) came up with the phrase, once an alcoholic, always an Alcoholic, but then in the late 1950(s) Bill W. came out in the news papers and claimed that he had been cured of his alcoholism.

I was trained and certified as a Hypnotherapist back in the early 90(s), at that same time I was earning a degree in Social Work, where I received training as a Substance Use Disorder Professional, and during one of my first Substance Use Disorder jobs, (during the early 90s), , I was sitting in the lunch room with my new co-workers and we were talking about recovery techniques. I mentioned the term Harm Reduction, and the room grew silent, this was followed by huge explosive talk about how the only way to work with Addictions is treat the addiction as the Problem instead of a symptom of a larger problem..

Some of the biggest names in the field today, such as Gabor Matte, have promoted the idea that addictions are coping mechanisms that we use to deal with emotional issues and traumas.

Think about that, and ask yourself the question, what were the benefits of my addiction , when I first started using? For most addicts, the use of substances became an escape. No matter what the issue was, stress, anxiety, social anxiety, low self worth and / or esteem, once you began to feel the effects of the substance and you could release your self of those emotional traumas, you began using more and more.

Now one of the issues is that your body becomes physically addicted to the substance, and so in many cases you should consult with a Dr. or Substance Use Disorder Professional, when you first start going through addiction treatment. Make sure you seek the advice of professionals as you go through this process.

I have worked with daily users of Alcohol, Nicotine, and Methamphetamine, who had lost, or were facing the loss of their jobs, their relationships, and their homes. After just six sessions of Foundation Personal Energy Mastery, they were able to reduce and / or eliminate their substance usage completely, through techniques used in harm reduction treatment.

One of the first things I explain to my clients is that they deserve a big pat on the back for seeking out methods to make themselves feel better. The problem is that the client chose a coping mechanism that had many severe consequences that were attached. What they would be taught, and would now start using as healthy coping mechanisms, is that WE ARE NOT OUR THOUGHTS, WE ARE NOT OUR EMOTIONS. Through Hypnosis and Emotional Release Therapy they would learn how to break the link between their thoughts and their emotions. I never want the client to forget what the original thoughts or images are, I want them to be able to view those thoughts and not respond with the flight, fight, or freeze response.

The new responses come from changing our brain wave frequencies through Hypnosis, Mindfulness, Meditation, and Awareness.

We can not control the people or events around us, but we can control ourselves, and our responses. Using Techniques and tools taught by Foundations Hypnosis, you will learn powerful techniques that will allow you to become mindful, aware, and in control of the responses you put out.

I wonder what the scene in the lunch room, with my new co-workers, would have been like if I had mentioned the term Harm Reduction, today?

Are you facing the consequences of addiction, are you trying to deal with consequences of excessive substance use. CALL now, (206) 417-4900, Foundation Hypnosis and Life Coaching, get started on a life filled with Mindfulness, Awareness, and Peace and Joy.

Remeber (206) 417-4900, or e-mail me at dlscott2@comcast.net. You will be so GLAD that you did.

What is a Gateway Drug(s)? Are Alcohol or Cannabis Gateway Drugs? Are Nicotine or Caffeine Gateway Drugs?

I started work in the Chemical Dependency Field over thirty years ago. At the time the client’s drug of choice was considered the enemy. Whether a client came in for issues of addiction to Alcohol, Cannabis, Heroin, Nicotine, or even sugar, the substance of choice was considered the enemy, and the client was instructed that they could never touch the substance again.

The program AA, (Alcoholics Anonymous), gave the message, once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic. This message remained the same, although the success rate of AA was being recorded as around 25%.

Soon a new idea began to emerge, and that idea was called Harm Reduction. Despite the fact that Harm Reduction had seen so much success in things like seat belts, nicotine cessation programs, and diets, the people who joined and eventually became leaders in the AA movement refused to even consider that a harm reduction approach might work. (It is interesting to note that the founder of AA, Dr. Bill, always said that a drug is a drug is a drug. In the mid 1950(s) Dr. Bill came out in the newspapers claiming that LSD had helped cure him of his alcoholism)

Move ahead several years, and such leaders in the field, such as Gabor Matte, continued to research in the field, that lead to the idea that using addictive substances, Gateway Drugs, is a coping mechanism. The coping mechanism helped the addict deal with such things as Trauma, Childhood Abuse, and Neglect.

When a client comes to me with issues of addiction, I help them to understand that their use of substances, such as Alcohol, Heroin, Meth, Cannabis, started out as a smart idea. They were simply trying to cope with some form of stress or trauma, but the tool, (their substance of choice), has to many negative consequences, and negative repercussions. Using Hypnosis, and Mindfulness, I am going to teach the client new coping mechanisms, such as Self Hypnosis, Vagus Nerve Breathing, Mindfulness, and Awareness. The consequences and repercussions of these types of coping mechanisms produce no negative consequences or ramifications.

The substances and behaviors that the client has been using as a response are definitely physically addicting and often times require a period of withdrawal, sometimes with medical guidance, but once the client starts to detox from their drug of choice, they realize that they are creating a new path, a new course in life. This new course can allow them to develop responses and coping mechanisms that are very beneficial and positive.

One client that I worked with, came in with complaints of Alcohol Addiction. He was about to loose his job, and his wife, and he had been warned that if he did not stop using, he would surely loose both of these things. After just one session of Hypnosis with Foundations Medical Hypnosis, and Life Coaching, he never picked up another drink.

Another client had a similar experience, but he eventually decided to have a glass of wine with dinner, (what he was once told was his Gateway Drug(s)), while he was out eating with friends. The client was amazed that he slowly drank the wine and went back to comfortably having an occasional glass of wine, the Gateway Drugs. while he ate, and has not been drinking addictively since he went through this program.

People have jokingly said that wine was the glue that held 2020 together as we maneuvered through the early days of the Pandemic. Has the joke taking over, do find that Wine, or other addictive substances have become a problem in your life? TAKE charge of your life, learn to use hypnosis, meditation, mindfulness, and awareness, to regain control of your life.

Call Now: Foundation Medical Hypnosis, and Life Coaching, at (206) 417-4900. You will be so happy and amazed at how you can Master and Take control of your life.

I have recentlbeen working with a client who sought the help of Hypnosis, and Life coaching to deal with their Addiction issues.

I was initially told by the client that they were very skeptical as to whether the Hypnosis and Life Coaching could help, but after the first session the client claimed that they felt more calm, more relaxed, and centered, then they have felt in years. Now after 4 sessions they report that they have not had a drop of alcohol, nor have they had any cravings.

I have been working in the fields of Hypnotherapy, and Chemical Dependency counseling for over 25 years, and things have changed quite a lot. At one time, the reason for the addiction was considered to be the drug / alcohol itself. As time has progressed and more research and evidence has been gathered, it is being stated that the drug, (and drug could be anything from alcohol, food, behavoirs, and mind altering substances), is not the actually problem. While it is true that your body can become physically addicted to any of the above, after 21 uses, it is also true that by going through physical detoxification you can rid the body of the physical addiciton. In the past, many clients were advised to go into a detox center and things would be much better. Many times the client would go through the detox, but once they were done with that process, they would retrun to their every day lives and make no other changes, on a mental emotional, or spiritual level.

Foundations Hypnosis and Life Coaching utilizes a technique called Emotional Release Therapy. This techinque allows you to deal with old memories, old images, old beliefs, and agreements, by allowing you to become aware of the thoughts and feelings that your brain and body are producing, and easily and naturally recognizing that they are simply thoughts and emotions that you do not have to react to. I know that that this sounds simplistic, but the scientific evidence and research show it to be true.

By learning the techniques of Mindfulness, Hypnosis,NLP, and Life Coaching, the client finds that the stress, anxiety, and tension, that they once tried to change by using mind or mood altering substances, is released by themselves. They no longer are experiencing the flight or fight response, caused by unconscious production of natural chemicals in the body, such as adrenaline, and cortisol. Instead they are able to able to tap into the nervous system and consciously produce healing, calmining chemicals such as seratonin, and dopimine. These healing and natural chemicals are able to allow the client to relax, become centered and explore new healthy behaviors, that do not include trying to make themselves feel better with the old mood altering substances.

Call Now, (206)417-4900, Foundations Hypnosis Seattle / Shoreline. Start living the life that you have been dreaming of.

Are you dealing with an Addiction issue, Trauma, and Stress, and have tried many standard options, such as 12 step meetings, and chemical dependency treatment agencies? Are you ready to stop the addiction, and let go of the stress and trauma that have been plaguing your life for years. I have worked in the Hypnosis, and Chemical Addiction field for over 25 years. When I first attended school, and was taught how to help people deal with their trauma, stress, and addictions, it was a common belief that the main cause of a person’s addiction was the substance, the drug, the alcohol, etc. That belief no longer holds true. Today there is a growing body of evidence that suggest that all long term Addiction steams from Stress, and Trauma.

Trauma comes in many different forms and many different levels. While seeking out and talking about the original trauma, has been proven effective in some cases, the most important thing to remember is that your memories and images of the original trauma(s), create emotional responses, such as stress, anxiety, guilt, loneliness, all leading to seeking relief through addiction /addictive behavior.

It was Einstein who stated, “you can’t solve the problem at the level of the problem”. With the help of hypnosis and specifically a technique called ERT or Emotional Release Therapy, clients have found fast relief from the emotions of trauma within the first session. Once a client is able to obtain release from the emotions that have been causing stress, and the continued relief through addictive behaviors, then the work of finding a more appropriate response outside of addiction, and addictive behaviors can begin.

Using Hypnosis and ERT, has helped clients stop addictions to Crystal Meth, Alcohol, Nicotine, and a long list of other substances, and behaviors. While there is no magic cure for any kind of chemical dependency / addiction, there are many tools and supports that can help ease the stress, and anxiety from trauma, and addiction. In my 25 years as a hypnotherapist and my work in the chemical addiction field, I can guarantee that Hypnosis is one of the most powerful and effective tools.

So many people are trained to believe that they need some magic bullet, to fight their addictions, and so they are seeking some outside weapon that will stop their addictions.

Hypnosis will teach you how to use your own power to stop or control your usage via utilizing the power of your own mind. Through the power of Foundations Hypnosis you can finally gain the control you need to reach your goal, you can learn how to utilize hypnosis to control and eliminate addictions, whether that control be abstinence, or a more harm reduction approach.

As many of you may have read by now, there are new evidence based theories on the reasons for addictions.

While it is true that addictions affect four different areas of our lives; physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, we have been lead to believe that once you have the physical component of an addiction under control, the rest will fall into place. This is not always true.

A successful recovery program depends on what a person does once they are able to deal with the physical components of their addiction.

When I was in college, a classic experiment that was used to prove how it is the chemical(s) that cause the addiction, was one in which a man took a lone rat, put the rat into a basically empty cage, containing only two things. These two things were a bottle of water with no additives, and a bottle of water with cocaine added. The rat started using the water with the cocaine, and became so obsessed with this water, that it used it exclusively and so frequently, that it finally died of an overdose. The conclusion was, that once the drug built up in the rat’s system, it took over and the rat could not help itself.

Recently another experiment has shown that these conclusions were not quiet correct.

A psychology professor, Bruce Alexander, put a community of rats into a more comfortable cage, one with objects and equipment that was designed to make the rat cage more comfortable. Into this cage, Professor Alexander put the two bottles of water, the one with no additives and the one with the cocaine. The rats in this cage tried the cocaine laced water a couple of times, but declined it beyond this. They stuck with the untainted water. The conclusion was, that if you change your environment, make it more comfortable, more inviting, then the need for the constant drug use was eliminated.

Professor Alexander took the experiment one step further, he put a rat back into the lonely and uncomfortable cage, and watched as it became hooked on the cocaine laced water. This time, before the rat had a chance to die of an over dose, he took the rat out of the lonely and uncomfortable cage, put it into the more comfortable, more socially inviting cage, and was surprised to find that the addicted rat soon stopped using the laced water, starting using the untainted water, and returned to a non-addictive life style.

For many decades, about the last one hundred years, we have been lead to believe that just removing the drugs, or criminalizing drugs, making them stigmatized and making the addicted person stigmatized, will force of allow a person to quit there drug use. This war of drugs has produced a lot of social ills, and financial problems. (Read the book “Chasing the Scream” (The First and Last days of the War on Drugs), by Johann Hari).

What if there were another way? What if you were to discover a way to change your own rat cage, What if you could use the power of Hypnosis to change the addiction pattern?

With Foundations Hypnosis, and a technique called Emotional Release Therapy, you can do just that. You can learn how to use Hypnosis to eliminate the emotional effects of long held beliefs, and doubts that contribute to your addictions. You can learn how to change those doubts and start creating the life you have always dreamed of .https://www.dlscottpersonalenergymastery.com/hypnosis-chemical-dependency/

Don’t delay, call today, (206) 417-4900, you can create the life of your dreams by taking back control of thoughts and emotions through Foundation Hypnosis.

When I was in college studying the theories and ideas behind Chemical Dependency, and what makes a person addicted, I recall being taught about a famous experiment done in the late 1960(s), early 1970(s) in which a rat was placed in a cage alone. with nothing to distract it. It was given two water bottles, one with water laced with cocaine, and one without the cocaine. The experiment was run many times, and almost ever time the rat would choose to drink the cocaine laced water, over and over again, until it kills itself.

The results of this experiment were used to prove that once the subject is introduced to the chemical substance, in this case cocaine, it would become addicted to the drug, and nothing else would matter, it would ingest the cocaine until it died.

Now mind you, this was not the only experiment that was used to prove how addictions work, how it takes over your life, and how the drug becomes the only thing that the addict cares about, but it became one of the better published experiments, and it was promoted as proof as to how we must fight drugs as the evil, awful, enemy, and how only through constant vigilance against the drug, can an addict become free.

In the mid 1980(s), a professor in Van Couver, by the name of Bruce Alexander, started questioning this experiment. He thought about the fact that in the original experiment, the rat was put in a cage, alone, with nothing to do. He decided to add to the experiment. He took a whole group of rats, put them in a cage with many distractors, such things as running wheels, tunnels to run through, other rates to interact with. Then he put in the two sources of water, the one laced with cocaine, and the one without.

It turns out that the rats in the plush cage, tried the cocaine laced water a few times, but then left it alone. They preferred the clean unlaced water.

Now what can this mean”

All treatments for drug addiction must first look at a detox period of some sort. This can be done in your own home, in a hospital, or a detox center, It depends upon the type of drug, how much has been used and over how long of a period.

Once this is done, the subject must look at their life, their cage. Are they comfortable? Are they focused on what they really want, or are they focused on the negative emotions, images, and messages of their lives?

It is important to know what you were feeling when you decided to ingest the drug. Like the rat in the first experiment, where you alone, anxious, stressed, unhappy, and feeling depressed about your cage / life. If you were feeling these things, what were you doing, or what were you focused on that brought these types of feelings up. What, if any, past or current trauma, or past or current situation, was creating such feelings?

Over the years as a counselor, and hypnotherapist I have worked with clients who have come to me with various claims of being addicted. Some are addicted to food, some are addicted to smoking, some are addicted to drugs. What ever the complaint, the therapy is same. Some form of detox is called for, and then you must change your focus. You must release what ever emotional anchor you have to a past or current trauma or situation, so you can develop new, positive, emotional anchors, images, and messages.

The quickest way I know of, to accomplish this is through Emotional Release Therapy. Emotional Release Therapy is the Foundation of what I teach and use in Foundations Hypnosis North Seattle “Everett”.

These clients have moved on to new positive behaviors, new positive activities. Don’t delay; call Foundations Hypnosis Seattle “Everett”, (206) 417-4900 today. You WILL be glad that you did.

What Are You Really Addicted To?

Over the last several years, I have been dividing my time between my Hypnotherapy Practice, “Foundations Personal Energy Mastery”, and my position as a Chemical Dependency Counselor with Downtown Emergency Services Center.

As I continue to work with clients who present as addicted to various substances, and I delve deeper and deeper into the whole idea of addiction, I am beginning to understand just how people have been trained to believe that it is their substance of choice that is the enemy. In other words, people have been taught to believe that they must fight against the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual addiction to their drug of choice, but what if this were not the case.

What if the thing that people are really addicted to is negative emotions?

As I tell all of my clients, if you didn’t get a benefit from your habit or addiction, you would not have to struggle to let go of your habit or addiction.

Think about that. The first time you lit up, drank up, ate up, snorted up, etc. you felt some form of elation, some form of letting go. What were you letting go of? Were you letting go of stress, anxiety, pain, anger, social phobia, some negative emotional response that your mind was creating in your body.

You probably did not think a lot about what you were letting go of, but you did feel different, you felt something better than what you were experiencing before. You had found a way of repressing whatever the negative emotion was, by flooding your body with a new emotion. At first the new emotion did the job, it gave you relief. Eventually the new relief became another negative emotion that you now have to deal with.

Conventional wisdom tells you that all your problems will be solved when you can break the addiction to the substance.

What if the true solution lies in breaking the addiction to negative emotions? Your body has become so use to having negative emotions flood the system that we don’t even recognize that would we go into withdrawal without them. Originally you were identifying yourself as a person dealing with anxiety, anger, pain, social phobia, etc. Instead of getting rid of the negative emotion that you identified with, you found a way of creating a new negative emotion to identify with. Now you are identifying yourself as an addict, instead of a person who lives with pain, a person who is overweight, a person who has low self worth, or low self esteem.

When you take away any of these identities, you go into type of withdrawal, that will cause even more anxiety, and fear, leading to more of a need to repress or avoid emotions with some kind of addictive behavior or substance.. Your ego cannot live without some form of identity, and in most cases, (without even knowing it), we are identifying with the negatives in our lives.

If you are a person who has gone into their recovery journey, then you have taken on a new positive identity, you become a Recovering (Fill in the Blank).

So many of my clients find this route to be wonderful, uplifting, and fulfilling for the next chapter of their lives, BUT!!! Eventually, and I always hear this question, “Is this all there is? Will I be going to meetings, and groups for the rest of my life?” At this point, the positive identity starts to become a negative identity. The body once again begins to be flooded with negative emotions. And we are right back where you started. What is the answer?

According to medical research, our bodies are filled with repressed negative emotions. (Dr. John Sarno, Back Pain is all in the Mind). We are taught from an early age, that we need to buck up, be strong, don’t cry, be a Man, or be an Adult. We are taught that emotions are a sign of weakness. We unconsciously agree that these emotions are so undesirable, and so unwanted, that we refuse to acknowledge them. Instead our unconscious mind will create disharmony in the body that keeps us from even realizing we have these undesirable and unwanted emotions.

Most of the time these emotions are simple emotions of anxiety, fear, phobias, quilt, shame, and the list goes on, and on. We have been taught throughout our childhood and our young adult hood, that good, well adjusted people do not have these feelings and so our brains, our egos, end up distracting us with other conditions, such as pain, diseases, and addictions, things that we are not really responsible for, and that can be cured by outside forces, like prescription medicine, surgery, and long term counseling.

Every day I deal with people who are told that they need to remember to take their medicine, they need to remember to attend their groups, they need to remember to do whatever the outside solution is for their issues.

The funny thing is that none of this is going to work in the long term, until the person decides that they want to something different. You can continue to relay on outside sources to change you, or you can take control of your thoughts, you can take care of your emotions, and cleanse yourself of the negative emotions that started this in the first place.

HOW???

I have said this before, and I will say it again:

Everything that exists is energy. Your body, the clothes you are wearing, the air that you, are breathing, the paper that this article is written on, the chair that you may be sitting on is made up of atoms / molecules and empty space. Emotions are pure energy!!!!!

Quantum Physics tells us that everything that exists is nothing more than tiny bits of vibrating energy. Since everything is energy, and all energy vibrates at different frequencies, then that means that your body, clothes, air, etc. are all vibrating at specific frequencies. The emotions that flood your body are actually very powerful bits of vibration energy.

Through a device called the electro encephalogram it is shown that our brain vibrates in beats per second, just like our heart vibrates in beats per minutes. There are, in fact, four identified states of vibration when it comes to brain wave activity.

The Beta state, which is a vibratory rate of about 14 to 21 cycles per second, this is the state of normal waking consciousness in which we use our normal five senses to keep us in touch with the world around us, sight, hearing, smell, touch, and tasted. The Alpha state, which is a vibratory rate of about 7 to 13 cycles per second, this is the state of consciousness in which a person is usually daydreaming, meditating, falling asleep, just or waking up. In this state we are less able to correctly perceive the low of time and space, and we use a form of intuition when interacting with our surroundings. When you enter the state of Alpha through hypnosis, or meditation, you are in control of the state. The next state is called the theta state, which is a vibratory rate of about 4 to 7 cycles per second, generally associated with deep sleep and containing very limited therapeutic applications, while the last state is called Delta, and it is a vibratory rate of about 1 to 3 cycles per second, associated with people who are in a deep coma state, definitely not containing any specific therapeutic applications.

With Hypnosis, Meditation, and Self Awareness, you can use your brain, to master, and release negative emotions. When you release these negative emotions you give yourself a head start in building a life based on positive emotions, positive identities.

With a technique called Emotional Release Technique, through Foundations Hypnosis, and Personal Energy Mastery, you can actually rid yourself of repressed negative emotions that have been the root of so much disease, pain, and addictions. With just a few simple sessions you can give yourself a new life, a life in which you can start practicing new behaviors, new life choices that allow you to create what you want in your life.

I have had clients come to me after just a few short sessions, expressing how their friends and family have told them that their eyes are sparkling; their expressions are of smiles and joy.

These clients have moved on to new positive behaviors, new positive activities. Don’t delay; call Foundations Hypnosis Seattle “Everett”, (206) 417-4900 today. You WILL be glad that you did.

It has been a long time since I have written an article here on my website. The primary reason is that I have been dividing my time between with working with a few hypnotherapy clients at night, and spending most of my days working in an agency in Downtown Seattle that deals with homeless, severely mental ill, and chemically dependent clientele.

During this time I have seen more disease, illness, and emotional unrest, then I thought possible. I have wondered what the real underlying cause is for these conditions. As a hypnotherapist I know that our mind controls our body, and as a chemical dependency counselor I know that we use drugs and alcohol, (including cigarettes and food), as a way to cover over and mask our emotional pain. fears, and traumas. Those things that we refuse to look at, those things that we suppress, are the things that cause unhealthy abnormal mental attitudes. Whether you are dealing with behaviors that the” experts” label severe mental illness, or whether you are dealing with behaviors that you consider road blocks, stress, and emotional trauma, there is a way to handle it. There is way of taking control back in your life.

You have the ability to take control of your life. Your mind can be focused on positive, effective, powerful techniques, and methods that can move you beyond addictions, anxieties, fears, issues that have kept you stuck for months, or even years.

You can reduce, eliminate and end states of depression, morbid emotions, excessive hate, resentment, condemnation of one’s self, criticism of others, jealousy, possessiveness, drug addiction, and a whole list of mental illnesses that continue to drag you further and further into states of stuckness.

I have seen clients who are deemed schizophrenic, bi-polar, and paranoid delusional who are unwilling or unable to move beyond their labels, and I have seen clients who make the decision that enough is enough, and by using hypnosis, and relaxation techniques they have been able to turn their lives around. They find ways of changing their thinking and changing their lives.

With the power of hypnosis, you can take control of your life! You can get a handle on the stress and emotional trauma that have kept you stuck in your own life circumstances, whether those circumstances are debilitating stress, addiction to nicotine, drugs, alcohol, anxiety, depression, lack of self confidence, disease, relationship issues, or fear of success, there is a way out. That way out is by going deep inside, and using the awesome healing power of your own mind. Hypnosis can help you unleash that healing power of your own mind, and, utilizing Foundations Hypnosis and Personal Energy Mastery’s unique process of Emotional Release Therapy can help you overcome and win!!!!

DLScott CHt. / CDP / AASD

Welcome back. It has been a busy couple of months here in North Seattle, and I have been kept very busy, using my skills and talents working in the field of mental health and substance abuse, trying to learn new ways of helping people over come major issues in their lives, and helping them find new avenues to achieve their goals, hopes, and dreams. I have learned some new ideas, and have had old ideas reaffirmed, and am still utilizing these ideas in the best way possible to create the best new hypnotic treatments and cutting edge Mental Health, and Substance Addiction treatments for my clients. As always my work and research keep coming back to my passion, the field of substance abuse, and hypnosis.

Drugs and compulsive behaviors are an emotional anesthetic, an antidote to a frightful feeling of emptiness. While hypnosis and NLP can not promise a cure for the desease model of chemical dependency, it does provide a way to detach from emotional issues that keep pulling a person back to their compulsive behaviors, and addictions, (whether that be nicotine, alcohol, stimulants, or depressants), in spite of the consequences to your health, your relationships, and your job. Foundation Hypnosis and NLP, North Seattle, helps you to uncover the demons that have been plaguing you and causing you to relay on unhealthy habits, and behaviors, and teaches you new behaviors, and new skills, to help you move ahead in life, and achieve your goals and dreams.

Ask yourself this question: if my compulsive behavior is causing me problems with relationships, my job, and my health, why do I keep chosen to repeat the same action over and over again, and expect a different result? We are creatures of habit. Think about that, we have daily routines, and daily habits, that we have been performing for years, without given it a second thought.

When you wake up in the morning you stumble out of bed, hop in the shower, grab a cup of coffee, turn on the news, get dressed, and quickly head out the door. You don’t have to think about it, it just comes automatically, and without any conscious thought. After several repetitions, your subconscious accepts the new programming, and takes control. In fact that habit becomes so ingrained, so powerful, that you actually feel a sensation of stress and anxiety if you don’t perform the programmed behavior.

The same is true of your other habits and other behaviors. Whether it be smoking, drinking, procrastination, inpatients, angry outbursts, gambling, compulsive behaviors such as eating, smoking, negative thinking, worry, judgments, and taking things personal, they are all pretty automatic, and seemingly impossible to stop.

Hypnosis works by implanting new healthy habits into your subconscious, but before it can do that it is important to clear out the emotions attached to old memories, and images. It is a lot like preparing the soil when you plant new seeds. You want to get rid of the weeds, and debris that have kept the seeds from taking hold.

From the very first session, Foundations Hypnosis and NLP of North Seattle, Shoreline, and Everett, utilizes a unique therapeutic tool called Emotional Release Therapy, that reduces and eliminates anxiety, and stress. The client is also taught easy methods of self hypnosis, and mindfulness that clean up the old feelings of low self worth, low self esteem, negativity, and emotional trauma, in much the same way that you have to clean and fertilize the soil before you start planting new seeds. At the second session, the client is then ready to have new strong, positive, healthy behaviors implanted into the subconscious level of their brain.

Just listen to what one recent client had to say:

“After just the first session I found myself able to focus on my school work, finish projects that I would have normally put off tell the last minute, and find time to actually relax and enjoy myself without the stress and worry of things undone. On top of all of that I am able to get rid of headaches by just practicing my daily exercises, and listening to the hypnotic CD(s) provided as a part of the service. Thanks Foundations, I feel great”
