										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I subscribe to a service called Dictionary, and in one of the emails that I received from them I read the following statement, &#8220;Mental Health Awareness Month is dedicated to raising awareness about <a href="https://www.dlscottpersonalenergymastery.com/relax-and-find-your-center-with-hypnosis/">mental health issues</a>, highlighting the resources for maintaining and improving mental health, and removing the stigmas around these conditions&#8221;.</p>
<p>I am receiving more and more calls and e-mails from people who are feeling stressed and drained from the effects of the year that we have all being going through with a world Pandemic which has included social distancing, constantly being required to wear a mask, and isolating with very limited travel. Bottom line is that there is a lot of anger and stress that we are all being flooding with on a daily basis. I have people who are calling for resources the will help with addictions / coping mechanisms, that include drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, food, and our Reponses of tension, stress, and anger.</p>

<p>Hypnosis, along with Life Coaching, Peer Coaching, NLP, EMDR, EFT, ERT, and a host of other techniques that are being provided to the public, are proving to be some of the strongest and most effective resources for people.</p>
<p>I would also like to point out that experiencing and living with emotional / mental health issues is not a thing to be hidden or be ashamed of. We all go through periods of stress, anxiety and tension. This is part of the human condition. We all try to cope with these issues is various ways. Sometimes we get stuck in the cycle of the coping mechanism, (food, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, behaviors), and when we realize this, when we come to the decision that we want to change, this is something to be grateful for and to take credit for.</p>
<p>Just knowing that you / we need to change our course, we need to find newer, <a href="https://www.bbrfoundation.org/blog/everyday-mental-health-tips?gclid=CjwKCAjwnPOEBhA0EiwA609ReW-H6RIFGuS1MkfbxUgkjKovWMQexntB7M4jXOCTUp74JH_FrerWCRoCjdcQAvD_BwE">healthier coping mechanisms</a>, show that we are, or we are becoming aware.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Welcome to the fastest method of dealing with coping mechanisims that exists. When a client comes to Foundations Medical Hypnosis and Life Coaching seeking to reduce or eliminate some issue, (coping mechanism),  such as stress, anxiety, addiction, etc., they are surprised to discover that with the Hypnosis they will not only be eliminating the symptom of their issue, but they are going to learn how to resolve the emotion that caused the symptom.</p>

<p>By using Hypnosis to reach both the Alpha and Theta state of <a href="https://www.dlscottpersonalenergymastery.com/hypnosis-and-how-it-enhances-emdr-ert/">brain wave frequencies</a>, you can learn how to switch from the sympathetic nervous system to the para sympathetic nervous system, which allows you to go from a state of fight, flight, or freeze, response, (sympathetic nervous system), to a more positive and relaxed and calm state.</p>
<p>When you are seeking therpay to help you as you struggle with a coping mechanism, such as addictions, or behaviors, you will usually be subjected to old style talk therapy, which will try to help you remove the symptom, without reducing or eliminating the source of the coping mechanism.</p>
<p>A good example is the methods of Alcoholics Anonymous. While <a href="https://www.aa.org/">Alcoholics Anonymous</a> has helped many people to try and deal with their drug and alcohol issues, it has a low success rate, (about 24%), duc to its focus of the symptom, instead of helping the client deal with the emotion behind their need to use drugs or alcohol.</p>
<p>In the last few years all of that has been changed. Now with ERT or Emotional Release Therapy, Foundations Hypnosis has been giving clients a safe and effective way of dealing with the symptoms, or coping mechanisms, (addictions, anxiety, weight gain), via reducing or eliminating the emotions that created the need for a coping mechanism in the first place.</p>

<p>When a client calls my office, <a title="Pain  &amp; Health, Depression, Anger, Anxiety, Fear, Phobias, Hypnosis Seattle, Emotional Release Therapy" href="https://www.dlscottpersonalenergymastery.com" target="_blank">Foundations Hypnosis Seattle Everett</a>, I am often hit with a barrage of questions such as, does Hypnosis work?  Can I be hypnotized? Can hypnosis make me <a title="Foundations Hypnosis, nicotine, quit smoking" href="https://www.dlscottpersonalenergymastery.com/foundations-smoking-cessation-program/" target="_blank">stop smoking</a>? Can I lose weight using hypnosis?  I feel stuck; I have low self worth can hypnosis make my life better? I have a problem sleeping, can you hypnotize me and make me sleep better. I am experiencing coming out issues, can hypnosis help? I am addicted to alcohol, can hypnosis make me stop drinking, or can hypnosis make me stop using drugs?</p>
<p>I am elated that the person has called Foundations Hypnosis Seattle Shoreline Lynwood Everett, and is seeking a way to stop their use of behaviors and / or substances that are causing them such problems in their lives. I am also cautious to explain in simply language that Hypnosis cannot make them do anything.</p>
<p>I have worked in the counseling field for over twenty years, I have discovered a few truths along the way, but none as helpful and exciting as the idea that NO!!!  HYPNOSIS CAN NOT MAKE YOU DO ANYTHING!  If it were that simple, then I would have long ago cured the ills of society and would have retired somewhere down in the tropics with a sizeable bank account and a bigger smile on my face than I already have.</p>
<p>Hypnosis is one of the most effective and powerful tools in my arsenal to help people create change in their lives. With the aid of hypnosis you can eliminate the effects of fears, phobias, addictive behaviors, PTSD(s), chronic pain, sleep disorders, depression, anger, and anxiety. You can actually <a title="Foundations Hypnosis, nicotine,, quit smoking" href="https://www.dlscottpersonalenergymastery.com/foundations-smoking-cessation-program/" target="_blank">eliminate nicotine</a>, and other drugs, from your life forever, but if you want to know whether Hypnosis can MAKE these changes occur, the answer is NO.</p>
<p>First off you have to really want to make the changes that you are seeking. Once you have decided, I mean really decided to make these changes, you have won half the battle. The other half is in making a plan, choosing a way of getting to your goal. <p>When I first started out in the field of hypnosis, I did so to help people deal with stress, and anxiety. I wanted to give people a way of dealing with pain and physical illnesses. Once I was trained in the ability to hypnotize people, I soon discovered that I needed a lot more than just one technique, one type of therapy, to help people deal with the types of problems I mentioned above.</p>
<p>Over the years I put myself through school, received a degree in social and human services, became a Chemical Dependency Counselor, and learned even stronger and more specific techniques, such as Dialectic Behavior, (which utilizes Mindfulness), Nero Linguistic Programming, and <a title="Emotional Release Therapy, Change behaviors, Alpha Brain Wave, Eliminate effects of Stress, Relaxation, Beliefs and Agreements" href="https://www.dlscottpersonalenergymastery.com/emotional-release-therapy/" target="_blank">Emotional Release Therapy</a>, which incorporates some of the most advance research available to help people actually change their brain wave patterns and eliminate the physical effects of stress, and trauma. Even with these tools and techniques I can never lie to a client and tell them that Hypnosis will make them do anything.</p>
<p>The proper use of Hypnosis can help them, and will almost guarantee that they are going to achieve their goals, but it is the client themselves who must utilize the tools, it is the client themselves who must do the work to get to where they want to go. <p>Many people have heard about the Law of Attraction, whether it be through the movie, The Secret, or through the teachings of Jerry and Ester Hicks, but much of what is talked about is how we can attract into our lives just by thinking about it. Most of what is taught is a very simplistic and theoretical. It does not provide a lot of practical answers as to why this process works, and in fact to many people it ends up being thought of as a magical way of thinking, something akin to wishful thinking.</p>
<p>I am a very hands on type of person; I need to have things explained in a very practical way, before I can even consider why they might work. Through the teachings of such people as Jerry and Ester Hicks, Ernest Holmes, and Michael Losier, I have found those explanations, and have been able to take them further with the power of Hypnosis, and NLP.  At Foundations Hypnosis NLP serving the Seattle ~ Shoreline ~ Lynnwood ~ Bothell ~ Everett, I show how the Law of Attraction is science, not new age magic, and how you can start using this science in your own life in a very deliberate way. I say, use it in a deliberate way, because the Law of Attraction is working in your life, whether you are aware of it or not.<br />
First off, why does the Law of Attraction work and what is the scientific explanation?</p>
<p>When we have a thought, we are creating a Neuro pathway in the brain. Every time we revisit that thought, we are using the same Neuro pathway. As an example I want you to think of something unpleasant, something that has made you frustrated or angry. Allow yourself to view this image, give it color, brightness, and clarity. Now I want you to think of that image and this time make it  black and white, dull, grainy, and give it some really silly background music, such as music in a cartoon, or music from a circus.</p>
<p>On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being very unpleasant and 1 being neutral, I want you to once again think of the image you just changed, and you will realize that the unpleasantness, the anger or the frustration is diminished, you are no longer able to feel the same about the image, and or the event. You don’t have to struggle with trying not to get angry, you simply can’t feel angry, or you can’t feel the same level of anger. The more you practice this technique, the more you will recognize that your anger, or unpleasantness is gone. Your brain has done exactly what it is suppose to do; it has changed the image and has now accessed a new Neuro pathway. It has done this without any conscious effort on your part, except to change the content of the image. With this new image and new Neuro pathway you are producing a positive charge as opposed to the negative charge.</p>
<p>There is no magic power at work, it is a simple and very understandable fact of neurology.</p>
<p>Once you have removed the blocks, (unwanted negative emotions), that keep you from experiencing the type of life you desire, then you will learn how to use the tool of attention, to start moving the process toward gaining the life you desire.</p>

<p>When a new client calls or comes in to see me, there are so many misconceptions and fears regarding hypnosis, that I often times marvel at the fact that people are willing to put aside their fear of hypnosis, to seek out help with whatever issue they are hoping to resolve.<br />
I was onced asked if it is hard to hypnotise a client, and I quickly responded with the fact that the hardest thing is to break the hypnotic trance that a client brings into the office with them. If that sounds a little strange, let me say here and now, &#8220;we are in trance state most of, if not all of, our waking states&#8221;. Whether we think we can, or we think that we<br />
can&#8217;t it becomes true for us. In other words, if you think that you can&#8217;t stop smoking, then you can&#8217;t stop smoking, if you think that you can stop smoking, then you can stop smoking. If you think that you are a loser and nothing will ever go right for you, then you will exhibit the traits of being a loser and nothing will ever go right for you.  Our thoughts<br />
determine our life circumstances and until you change your thoughts and beliefs, then nothing will ever really change for you.<br />
How many of you have heard about the person who won the lottery, only to be broke again within a matter of months or few years.  On a clinical level, with a trained hypnotherapist, you will be shown how to use self hypnosis, and you will learn about how safe hypnosis is, and how beneficial the process really is. Hypnosis is safe for teens, it is safe<br />
for adults, and in the hands of a certified counselor and hypnotherapist, hypnosis can help you obtain the life you have always dreamed of, but always seemed to be out of your reach.<br />
Unlike stage hypnotism, which can be great entertainment, but creates a lot of inaccuracies, and misconceptions, clinical hypnosis delivered by a safe hypnotherapist is simply a matter of changes beliefs and eliminating deeply held emotions, and feelings, that the client has been supressing for many years.<br />
Unlike what people are may believe, hypnosis has no harmful long term or short term effects on the mind or body. It does help eliminate effects of long term and short term effects of stress on the body, and thus helps with pain, illnes, and disease. I recall one client who came to see me for pain management control by her Dr. She had recently<br />
been through carpal tunnel syndrome surgery, and was taking a long time to heal. After 8 to 10 months her Dr. had referred her to my services, and not only did she swiftly recover from her first surgery, but she also used the techniques I taught her to cut down her recovery time from a second carpal tunnel surgery on her other hand. The recovery time in<br />
this case was 2 weeks.<br />
It is surprising to me, when a client comes into my studio, hoping to find relief from there presenting issue, and during the first attempt at hypnosis, they have such a fear of hypnosis, which includes such things as being made to act in some bizzare behavior, or being made to do something against their will, they spend a lot of time resisting the<br />
process. Eventually with patience and explanations, the client will allow themselves to relax, and focus their mind on letting go of negative emotions, and negative thoughts, and allow themselves to focuse on positive emotions, and positive thoughts.<br />
After a short series of sessions, usually 6 to 8, the client has reached the point that they can now succcessfully manage or have successfully eliminated the unwanted emotion or behavior on their own. The benefit(s) of this can be life saving. If it is smoking cessation, then the benefits are very obvious, if it is stress related, the<br />
benefits to the health and well being of the client are remarkable on many levels. The number one health concern in this country is stress related illness and disease. With just prolonged stress in the body, a person has to deal with tight mucles, increased blood pressure, decreased ability of the body to rid itself of toxins, and an increase in those toxins.<br />
More and more helath care providers are recognizing these helpful effects and are recommending their patients to attend classes on hypnosis, relaxation techniques, medition, and yoga.<br />
As someone once said, the only thing that we have to fear is fear itself. There is nothing to fear from recieving  lessons, and sessions from a fully trained and licensed hypnotherapist. Always check to make sure that anyone you hire is creditialed and or licensed with the state.<br />
In my case I have been a counselor, hypnotherapist, and chemical dependency counselor with the state of  Washington for a little over twenty years. I employ techinques of hypnosis, and cognitive behavioral therapy that I have been trained to perform while working in various mental health agencies, chemical dependency agencies, and through<br />
certified schools that teach these techniques.<br />
