Experience: I am a Certified Hypnotherapist, Life Coach, Certified NLP practitioner, and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with the state of Washington. Having obtained my degree in the social and human service field, I have been in active practice for over twenty eight years. Nine of those years were spent as Clinical Coordinator for Project NEON, a program that targeted Gay and Bi-sexual Men who injected Crystal Methamphetamine. I have also spent the last 8 years working with the homeless and severely Mentally Ill through Downtow Emergency Services Center. I have facilitated various work shops for the Bellevue Community High School, created a successful non 12 step support group for recovering addicts, and have lead workshops on harm reduction and the treatment of chemical addiction with Hypnosis around the country.

Education: I have studied under and successfully completed course work in Clinical Hypnosis, (Snyder Michael approach to Relaxation Therapy at Seattle University), Neuro – linguistic Progamming, Chemical Dependency Counseling, Dialectic Behavioral Training, Time Line Therapy, Pain Management Control, Medical Hypnosis under Dr. R.D. Longacres, and Michael Preston, and have received my Associate of Applied Science Degree in the Social and Human Service Field.

Professional and Service Work: I am currently a member of the  the American Hypnosis Association, and the Washington Chapter of the National Guild for Hypnosis. I am a former 2 term member of the Seattle HIV / AIDS Planning Counsel.

Professional Accomplishments: I successfully grew the clinical portion of the Harm Reduction Program for the above mentioned Project NEON, developed and facilitated a 12 week recovery group for that program, while integrating Project NEON with an already existing more traditional chemical dependency program, and created a very successful non-traditional 12 step support group for recovering addicts, which went on to become a national peer lead support model.

My Philosophy: Can be summed up in the following statement – We are not made up of Atoms, we are made up of Stories. I believe that we live off of the images and messages that we have accepted and agreed to since we were small children. We have been given a code of conduct that tells each of us what is right, and what is wrong, and as we grow up we live our lives from that code. The problem is that it is not really our own code, it is simply lessons and rules given us by the adult figures in our lives, such as Mom, Dad, Brothers, Sisters, Friends, School, Church, and the Media in its various forms. We are taught how to be a good boy, or a good girl, and as we got older we often times find that we can not live up to the very rules, lessons, and moral codes that we base all of our judgments on. This is why we become conflicted and resort to various addictive and compulsive type behaviors to try and cover up the fact that we don’t feel good enough, or that we don’t feel like we fit in. All of these feelings are internalized and we end up spending most of our lives trying to just get along.
Not everyone is the same, we each live from our own set of made up rules, and stories. It is my job as a counselor to help you recognize what the story is that has been running your life, and help you discover and adopt a new way of looking at things, This going to be a different process for each client, and so each therapeutic process will be different dependent upon the client’s needs and desires.  Foundations Hypnosis – Hypnotherapy Seattle, Shoreline, & Everett
